How to Order Amniotic Allografts for Your Clinic

Licensed clinics order amniotic allografts from Total Wound Experts in five steps: clinic intake, onboarding in under a week, a benefit check for each patient before a product is used, prior authorization where a payer requires it, and shipping with reorders managed by your account lead.

The five steps

  1. Intake. Complete the clinic intake. We review your clinic type, volume, payer mix and product needs and schedule a 20-minute call. Do not put patient information in the intake form.
  2. Onboarding. We collect credentials, open your ordering account, review your payer mix for coverage risk and train your team. Most clinics place their first order within a week.
  3. Benefit verification for each patient. Before a product is used, we check the patient's coverage for that product in your setting. Requests received before 2pm Pacific are returned the same business day. See how benefit verification works.
  4. Prior authorization where required. We build the packet from your notes to the payer's medical policy, submit it and tell you when a decision arrives.
  5. Shipping and reorders. Product ships to your door. Your account lead sets par levels to your volume and handles reorders. Products that need cold-chain handling ship that way.

What we supply in this category

Amniotic and chorionic membranes, placental-derived allografts, and sizes from small punch grafts to large sheets, sourced from multiple manufacturers. We do not publish brand names because the options change with payer coverage and availability; the provider makes the product decision. Details are on the amniotic membrane skin substitutes page.

Tracking and documentation

Under 21 CFR 1271.290 each HCT/P is labeled with a distinct identification code, and the establishments that handle it must keep a tracking system. We keep lot and serial number logs for every graft we ship, and each clinic gets documentation templates for each product category. At each application the chart should record the product, size, lot number and the amount applied, along with wound measurements. Our documentation checklist covers the full note.

Frequently asked questions

How do I order amniotic allografts for my clinic?

Complete the Total Wound Experts clinic intake, finish onboarding (credentials, ordering account, payer review and staff training), then request a benefit check for each patient before a product is used. Product ships to your door and your account lead manages par levels and reorders.

Do I need to be a licensed provider?

Yes. Total Wound Experts supplies amniotic and chorionic membrane products only to licensed clinics, and the provider makes the product decision.

How are amniotic products regulated?

They are made from human tissue. FDA regulates human cells, tissues and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps) under 21 CFR Part 1271. Ask the manufacturer for documentation of a product's status before you add it.

What has to be in the chart at each application?

The product, size, lot number and the amount applied, along with wound measurements. We supply documentation templates for each product category at onboarding.

Should I put patient information in the website intake form?

No. The intake form is for clinic details only. Your account lead will set up how your team sends benefit check requests.
